ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY SELECTION
Perfect Execution
This was a project that I completed for my master’s program. It focuses on how an assistive technology should be implemented in a school setting. This offers an insight to the needs-based approach that is so important in the individualized nature of learning. Using the students learning profile, as developed by Dr. Todd Cunningham, I am able to articulate the appropriate intervention for students with a variety of learning needs.
TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION
A Real Success
Implementing technology into education is drastically evolving. We take our smart phones and tablets for granted and use them primarily for leisure activities. This has created a society that is so engrossed in their devices and applications that we lose sight of the potential that technology can have on learning. I created this video to illustrate how technology can teach abstract concepts and break them down into a more coherent way.
COLLABORATIVE STRATEGIC READING
Perfect Execution
Collaborative Strategic Reading is an approach by which peers are able to come together and create a learning environment where material is peer taught. This strategy in classrooms has shown to be an effective method to not only those with learning disabilities but can be universally beneficial for the class as a whole.

@uwwomeninstem
He for She is an internationally recognized organization that empowers and advocates for female equality around the world. I had the opportunity to attend the International Women’s Day conference in 2017 at the University of Waterloo. I was fortunate enough to hear from some amazing women and how they overcame the discrimination they faced for being a woman. To extend this conference we created a community forum through Instagram where women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines can voice their stories anonymously to increase the awareness of this issue on campus.
